Finally, some positive signs and enough of the negative economy!   There are a couple of new restaurants in the Davenport area, one already open and the other to be open very soon.  Growth continues to happen here and it will only get better, as new retail stores open in Posner Park this spring (Ross and Payless Shoes, among others), new medical and dental facilities appear, and new service industry expands in this region. 

Already open is a new Italian Restaurant and Franky's Pizza, located on Hwy. 27 South in a plaza just one mile from I-4 (Exit 55).  Home style Italian cooking and pizza are featured specialities, with accomodations of several outdoor umbrella tables for those who enjoy the Florida outdoors. Yes, there are many pizza places, but none that also serve the favorite home-style Italian dinners like this one!

Coming soon is the Highwayman Tavern, located on the access road next to Jarrett Ford from Hwy. 27 (Beside Wendy's and McDonald's).  Two local bars have joined together to form a place to eat, drink and have fun (be merry!).  This unique establishment will feature a local and British menu, full bar and daily specials, in a family friendly atmosphere, with nightly entertainment.  They will be offering a varied menu with everything cooked from scratch, featuring good healthy comfort food at great prices.  Many of the recipes have been handed down through their family generations. 

 This will add to the current variety of restaurants already available in the  area.  Dinner in Davenport can be a very enjoyable experience, with food choices for everyone, prices for every budget, and a much needed break for the family.  There will be more to come, as much more is planned . . . . .  . more positive signs of a positive future.
