Any sports enthusiasts will say that the mention of "March Madness" immediately brings to mind the professional basketball playoffs.  But real estate has seen its own kind of March madness this year.

Most likely due to the tax credit that expires the end of April, there has been an overwhelming renewed interest in the purchase of a home and the number of those out looking has more than doubled in the past couple months.  Add to the fact that interest rates are still historically low, inventory is still good, and prices are at an all time low, it is no wonder that so many have finally gotten "off the fence."

Contracts are finally being written again, and not just on short sales or foreclosures, but on regular  sales, where homeowners have priced their homes correctly for the market.  Many prices are being compared to the late 90's before the "madness" of the market upswing began. 

Not only are homes  extremely affordable now, but sellers are willing to negotiate and become creative in helping to finalize a sale.  Whether it is adding a furniture package, a golf cart, a home warranty or some needed home repairs, buyers and sellers are working hard together to make things happen.

Time is indeed running out for anyone wanting to take advantage of the tax credit and the window of opportunity is slowly closing for those wanting to get the most for their money in a real estate investment.  Don't delay in finding that dream home or vacation property.  The time has never been better than right now.  Get into the madness!
