Not only have we lived in a "mature" community but we have worked here as well for the past eight years, and this has given us much insight into the individual needs and desires of those looking for a retirement or semi-retirement home.

Ridgewood Lakes alone offers two subdivisions for active adults:  High Vista, which is fully developed with a clubhouse since 2006 and LaCresta Del Webb, which began in 2008 and is still to be completed.  This pristene community  offers so much for the mature market:  lots of walking and nature trails, safe roads and paths for golf carts and bicycles, beautiful wooded areas, lakes and plenty of nature itself!   Then there is the 5 star golf course and clubhouse, open to the public.

Many who retire to this area are not really looking to retire from something as much as they are looking for something to retire to.  There is such a variety of choices in this area:  many choose to work part time for Disney or other theme parks,  to work for local retail stores, or simply to volunteer for local hospitals or charities.  For those who just like to be "active" there are numerous clubhouse activities in most adult communities and you can be as busy as you want to be.  From Drama and Travel Clubs, to Card, Craft and Computer Clubs, there is truly something for everyone.

When choosing a "retirement" community or location, it is important to list the specifics that are of utmost importance to the individual:  Does there need to be a hospital nearby?  Is closeness to major roadways important?   If you love to travel, is an airport nearby?  What about shopping, restaurants and entertainment? 

There is much to consider in addition to an actual home with the mature market.  We like to think that since we have already "been there, done that" we can be the "mature market matchmakers" and find the perfect  home and location that matches the needs of the  mature home buyer.
