Another successful shuttle launch was completed on a beautiful Saturday afteroon, May 31st.  It is such a thrill to be able to drive to the "Space Coast" in just one hour and watch in person the tremendous force and power it takes to send one of these shuttles up into space.  But even for those who cannot find the time to be there, we are fortunate in Central Florida to be able to view each shuttle launch from a distance, seeing the glow of the fiery rocket and the trailing smoke until it climbs out of sight.  We also often hear the "sonic booms" when the shuttle makes its return flight to earth.  Kennedy Space Center is a day well spent, filled with fun, education and lots of history about our space program.  There is something for all ages, and it is a thrill to see the magnitude and size of the shuttle launch pad and the buildings surrounding it.   For space exploration at its best here on earth - be sure to stop by and experience it for yourself!
